Nancy Landale

Nancy Landale is Liberal Arts Research Professor of Sociology and Demography at The Pennsylvania State University. Her research focuses on family patterns and health outcomes of racial and ethnic minorities in the United States. She is currently investigating the health and development of Mexican children of immigrants, with an emphasis on links between immigration and assimilation processes, family contexts, and multiple dimensions of health.

This report summarizes new data on the health of the children of immigrants, who represent nearly one-fourth of all children in the United States under the age of 18, finding that those with Mexican immigrant parents in particular tend to experience greater childhood health risks than most of their peers.
